Anna-Rose
I’ve been itchin’ to shoot lately, so I was thrilled when Anna-Rose agreed to let me photograph her! This weekend is her prom, so it was perfect that we were able to use her dress…and can I mention prom dresses have made a drastic improvement since my day’s at prom.
I also just purchased the new Canon 5d Mark III, and I couldn’t wait to try it out. I was beyond pleased with the upgrades from the Mark II. The focus ability, even at wide apertures, was absolutely worth the upgrade.
Thanks Anna-Rose for letting me play! You are beautiful.
Thanks Josiah for scouting this great location and for assisting me.
Thank you Stormie Robinson for the FABULOUS hair!! You are a rock star!
My *hope* for the summer is do many shoots like this, so stay tuned!

OMG amazing
Did u use off camera light or just reflectors? It has a certain POP that is so fun
Gold reflector maybe?!?!
You dirty dawg. Way to break back into posting shoots with a BAAAANG! I would totally do my hair that way everyday… Schmaybe I will… hmmm…. Anywho. Glad to see the MKiii in action. Any comment on the bazillion focus points they added? Or is center focus still your, ahem, center focus…?
Wow! She does look like Taylor Swift!! What a gorgeous gal and gorgeous images.
Love her prom dress too!!
Lindsey- I used all bazillion focus points. That totally gave me the capability of getting every shot tac on!
Oh Kelly, these are stunning! SO beautiful!!
Love everything about this shoot! Definately interested in seeing more work from you with the 5D Mark III and SUPER excited for the workshop next month

GORGEOUS photos!! i absolutely love the location you chose for the pictures in the prom dress. Also, since when did prom dresses become less poofy and more glamorous? The sequins and sparkles are so great!! Makes me wish I could go back in time and pick more flattering prom dress!
You did justice to each of these images! There’s no way I can wait 2 whole weeks to create another project like this one! ha ha.. j/k. all in good time! again, thank you for thinking of me.

These are stunning photos (and I love the dress!!)! Can’t wait to try out the Canon 5D MkIII! Just wondered – did you use flash for some of these and for others a reflector?
Where is this? It’s sooo cool
Beyond WOW!!!! Gorgeous everything!!!!
She is only in high school!?! She is so beautiful and her hair is dreamy. The dress, the glow of her hair from the sun, the poses. These are incredible, really!
the photos are beautiful and what a gorgeous prom queen
Oh, I weep when I think of my own prom dress. She looks absolutely stunning in this one, and the lighting is ethereal. Just lovely.
I, like everyone am dying to know – alien bees? The light is out of this world! These images are crazy inspirational.
wow. stunning. your use of lighting is perfect. aaaaand she TOTALLY looks like Taylor Swift. Just stunning.
Is she like the perfect combo of Taylor Swift and Shania Twain, or is it just me?!?!? Stunning work!
You know I’m your biggest fan and supporter, and I don’t think you could ever take a bad picture! You’re so talented, and I am SO excited to see you shooting again! Wonderful pictures!!!!!
Alicia- All of the lighting in this shoot is natural light with a reflector
These images are STUNNING, as is most of your work. I LOVE the images that you produce. I can truly relate to the ups and downs you wrote about in your Silver post. Being a photographer myself over the last almost 15 years I “get it”. I know from experience that you have to set your boundaries. (For me, it was raising the session fee for evenings and weekends so high, that clients schedules “amazingly” cleared up during the week once they found out how much the weekends cost, and then if they still “needed” it, I didn’t mind giving them up because it was worth my time) I felt less pressure, because I knew I would have time for my kiddos that way. Evenings and weekends are mine, and only mine. I am SO glad to see you shooting again, because I am always inspired by your work. It would be a shame if you burnt out… because artist’s like you just don’t come along everyday. I thought I’d take a minute and let you know this, because there are times that people like you keep people like me from crash and burning. Hope to be able to meet you at a workshop someday.
These are stunning!!
Kelly girl, it’s so nice to see you shooting again. You inspire me, woman!
